Lime sherbet was the Official Food of Summer 2005, so I got pretty good at making it. However, for my SO's birthday, I decided to make raspberry sherbet as well. It was the best raspberry ANYTHING I have ever tasted, bar none. What's more, because this is made with real fruit, it's like full of vitamins and good for you. Thank you, Christopher Kimball, for bringing me this bliss.
Ingredients
- 2 cups pureed fruit (I thawed boring frozen, blended and sieved)
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2-3 tbs lemon or lime juice
- 2 tbs vodka or light rum
- 1-3 tbs preserves or honey
- 1-1 1/4 cups whole milk
Directions
- Chill all the above to 4 C (40 F)
- Then add : 1-1.25 cups cold whole milk (actually, I used 2%) and freeze in your ice-cream maker.
- Let stand 5 minutes on the counter before serving, otherwise it'll be too hard.
